almost...
Well, I can't believe the house is so close to being done. Christmas is less than a month away already! I mean, dang, where did the time go? We are going to keep listing the loft and go ahead with the close of the house. It may work out better this way since we need to get a fridge, washer, and dryer as soon as we move. It pretty tough trying to pick out these daily use appliances. I'm just not sure where to find reliable reviews. I know, there's always Consumer Reports. Wired Magazine did review the Samsung washer very well, but the price is a little high. We saw a model very similar, but not as colorful, for less at Best Buy, and we may very well get that set. I don't think I need a red or blue washer and dryer set anyway, although I did see one that looked remarkably like Silk Green that was oddly appealing for some reason.See how purty it is -->
The fridge is tough for me- I want it to match the rest of the appliances as much as possible, but I'm not 100% set on it having to be the same brand- Jenn-Air in this case. Well, except for the microwave, which is Maytag. We use the ice & water dispenser on our current fridge all the time, so that is something we would like to have as well. We have looked at two stores and its really kind of overwhelming. We've still got a little over a month to decide. I am leaning towards a french style, as the wider fridge will make it super easy to hold sheet pans but the double doors will work better for the small walkway in front of the fridge that leads to the mudroom.
Of course, I've picked some really nice new bedding for the our bedroom and a new round dining table- both of which can (and will) wait. Calvin has a new TV in mind as well. He would like to put the TV over the fireplace in the new house, and our current one won't work for that. So, he is looking to get a flat one. Our current TV is a nice size and was a wedding gift from my brother. It has worked great, so I guess it would be relegated to our bedroom where there is not a TV. We may have a half dozen computers but we only have one TV. I kind of like only having one- makes our bedroom a room for rest.
We are not going to jump-start our credit cards again after working so hard to keep them paid off. Fortunately, the grill, lawnmower, and other outside items are easier to wait until spring to find. Both the front and the back yards are pretty small, and I've read that the reel mowers are much better for grass than the powered kind, so I may get one of those and see how it works. I enjoy cutting the grass and taking care of the yard, and I'm really looking forward to next spring and summer.
